RADMARC Domain Security

RADMARC is here to protect your domains from email impersonation and phishing attempts. With our help, you can keep track of and control your DMARC process.

Anyone and everyone is free to implement DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication Reporting and Conformance) – an email authentication, policy, and reporting protocol. DMARC gives domain owners the power to protect against threats to business email, phishing and spoofing. By installing a policy in your DMARC record, the world knows how to address unlawful usage of your email domains.

The three DMARC policies are:

Keeps track of your email traffic. No other measures are taken.

Unauthorized emails are delivered to the spam folder.

The last policy and ultimate goal in the implementation of DMARC. This policy prevents unauthorized email from ever being delivered.

How does DMARC work?

Because DMARC is reliant on SPF and/or DKIM findings, at least one of these must be in existence for the email domain. You must publish a DMARC entry in the DNS to use DMARC.

A DMARC record is a text item within the DNS record that notifies the world of your email domain’s policy after validating SPF and DKIM status. DMARC verifies if either SPF, DKIM, or both pass. This is known as DMARC alignment or identifier alignment. Based on identifier alignment, it is possible that SPF and DKIM pass, but DMARC fails.

A DMARC record also instructs email servers to submit XML reports to the DMARC record’s reporting email address. These reports inform you of your email’s movement through the ecosystem and help you to see who else is using your email domain.

Because reports are written in XML, deciphering them might be difficult, especially if there are a lot of them. The dmarcian platform can receive this data and demonstrate how your email domains are utilized so you can mobilize your DMARC policy towards p=reject.

Why Use DMARC for Email?

More than 90% of all network attacks include email and it might be difficult to establish whether an email is legitimate or not if you don’t have DMARC. By pushing back against phishing, spoofing, CEO fraud, and Business Email Compromise, DMARC helps domain owners to secure their domains against unlawful usage.

If a domain user continuously sends DMARC compliant email, what they’re really telling the world is: “everything I send is easy to identify using DMARC—feel free to drop fake email that pretends to be me.”

Instead of attempting to filter out fraudulent email, why not give operators an easy way to readily recognize valid email? This is where RADMARC’s value as an anti-spoofing solution really takes centre stage. RADMARC pledges to replace the inherently flawed “filter out bad” email security strategy with one that “filters in good.”

When effective security measures against fraudulent email are implemented, delivery is simplified, brand dependability improves, and domain owners get a first-hand look into how their domains are being used on the Internet.
